Medford 'Med' Shakespeare

Medford "Med" Shakespeare, of Riverton, died Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. He was 52 years old.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, at Blue Sky Hall in Ethete. Father Phil Wagner will officiate. Burial will be in the Shakespeare Cemetery. A rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, at Eagle Hall and a wake will follow at 1450 Quiver Lane.

Medford Jerome Shakespeare was born April 24, 1961, in Lander, the son of Jimmy Herrera and Mary Christine Shakespeare.

He was an enrolled Northern Arapaho and lived on the Wind River Indian Reservation his whole life.

He was married to Lori Harris and of the Catholic faith.

His family said he loved the Denver Broncos, the Wyoming Cowboys, the St. Stephen's Eagles and the Wyoming Indian Chiefs. He also liked going to the casinos and being with his family and friends above all else.

He is survived by his wife, Lori; daughters Janae Harris, Jami Shakespeare, Mary N. Brown, Frankie Miranda, Natalia LeClair, Maria Shakespeare, Cecelia Shakespeare and Chandria Trippo; sons Ethan Harris, Weston Shakespeare, Dallen Shakespeare, Todd N. Brown, Nicholas Brown, Darrell Oneal Jr., Dalen Spoonhunter, Travis Shakespeare, Bernard "Jr Bear" Friday, Robert "Bob" Friday, Cedric Shakespeare, Stanley W. Shakespeare, Shaun Farris and Thomas Antone; mother-in-law Irene Harris; sisters-in-law Donna Antelope and her husband Franklin, Viola Antelop, and Patricia Burnett; brothers Jim Shakespeare and his wife Cathy, Cedric Shakespeare, RJ Shakespeare and his wife Letha, Darrell O'Neal Sr., Charlie Martinez, Clarence Jenkins and Ronnie Kane; sisters Francene Shakespeare, Elizabeth Shakespeare Antone, Victoria Shakespeare, Vernita Shakespeare, Lynelle Shakespeare and Sarah Littleshield; uncles Kenneth Shakespeare and George W. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Christine Shakespeare; father Jimmy Herrera; uncles Richard (Big Rock) Shakespeare, Nickerson John Shakespeare and Mike Shakespeare; father-in-law Marvin Harris; brothers Dallas Shakespeare, Gabe Friday, Clement Friday, Micheal Friday and Dominic Martinez; brother-in-law William Harris; grandparents Nickerson Shakespeare and Elizabeth Shakespeare; aunts Lydia Friday and Marie Martinez; sisters Rose Shakespeare, Justina Shakespeare, Annette O'Neal and Madonna Friday; nephews Brandon Farris and Cpl. Billy B. Farris; niece Krista Farris; granddaughter Lalasia Brown; and daughter-in-law Veronica Engavo.
