Wyoming Thunder to ride through county

Jul 3, 2013 - From staff reports

In Wyoming Thunder XXIII's 23rd annual Run to the Wall, motorcycles will ride from Casper to Lander.

Motorcyclists from around Wyoming and the western United States participate in the event, which was created to honor veterans and raise money for veterans and their families. Funds come from donations and T-shirt sales.

Local riders will meet at noon Friday at the Kmart parking lot in Riverton.

The course is as follows:

5 p.m. Friday: Edness Kimball Wilkins State Park in Casper.

6 a.m. Saturday: VFW Post 10969, 4693 W. Yellowstone Highway, Mills

9 a.m. Saturday: Depart for Lander, stops in Hiland and Shoshoni

5 p.m. Saturday: Camping at Sleeping Bear RV Park Campgrounds

9 a.m. Sunday: Lander fairgrounds for parade line up

10 a.m. Sunday: Parade to Wyoming Veterans Memorial for observance and memorial service

The group encourages all "bikers, people and motorcycles" to participate or simply meet the bikers along the way to show support.

Wyoming Thunder is a chapter of the national organization Rolling Thunder Motorcycle Club.
