State to host working group

The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality and the Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission will host a Pavillion working group meeting Aug. 2 in Riverton.

This meeting will provide updates and a path forward regarding the investigation of pits, well bore integrity and domestic water wells.

In addition, a brief update will be made about the cistern systems for the Pavillion East Water Supply Project.

The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. at the Riverton Holiday Inn, 900 E. Sunset Drive. The public is encouraged to attend and will be given an opportunity to comment.

Work to begin on Glacier Trail

Starting July 16, stock parties and hiking groups can expect delays near the Honeymoon Switchbacks on the Wind River Ranger District of the Shoshone National Forest.

The project is located 12 miles south on Glacier Trail #801 in the Fitzpatrick Wilderness of the Shoshone National Forest. Forest Service crews will be working on the switchbacks to improve the safety of the trail corridor. The work will consist of blasting rock, reconstructing rock walls, and improving the trail surface. Trail work is expected to continue through Sept. 3.
