Jul 8, 2013 - StaffDorothy M. Olmstead, a longtime Lander resident, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, in Yukon, Okla. She was 83 years old.
Private services will be held.
Dorothy Olmstead was born July 4, 1929, in Dubbs, Miss., the daughter of Elmer and Fannie Flanigan.
She retired from Motel 6.
She was a military wife and the mother of seven children.
Her family said she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and knitting, and she was an avid reader of true crime.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Pyron of Mobile, Ala., Bobby Pyron of Missoula, Mont., Pat Olmstead of Fernley, Nev., Gus Olmstead of Riverton, Mark Olmstead of Oak Harbor, Wash., Elaine Burris of Yukon, Okla., and Kristen Wartluff of Jerome, Idaho; 16 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and one brother.
