Juan Carlos Galvan, of Riverton, died Sunday, July 7, 2013. He was 22 years old.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Davis Funeral Home. Pastor Oswaldo Najera will officiate. Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 11, at Davis Funeral Home.

Juan Carlos Galvan was born April 12, 1991, in El Paso, Texas, the son of Juan S. Galvan and Carmen R. (Orozco) Salinas. He spent the first five years of his live in El Paso, Texas, and then moved to Riverton where he went to high school. He also traveled back and forth to Texas to see family.

He worked in the oilfields immediately following school. He worked near Big Piney and North Dakota. Most recently he worked for BP Conoco Phillips in Lysite.

He was baptized into the Catholic faith and grew up as a Christian.

His family said he liked camping, hunting and fixing cars. He had been on a travel spree recently and was always surrounded by his friends. He had close relationships with his mother, his sister, Pricillia, and his niece, Sophia.

He is survived by his mother, Carmen R. Solinas, of Riverton; father Juan S. Galvan of El Paso, Texas; stepfather Alex Urbina of Riverton; stepmother Norma Galvan of El Paso, Texas; grandparents Ofelia Rojo and Mercedes (Otis) Miller; brother Christian Galvan of El Paso, Texas; and sisters Priscilla Galvan of Denver, Jorgelina Galvan of El Paso, Texas, Priscila Galvan of El Paso, Texas, and Karina Galvan of El Paso, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pedro Orozco.
