Jul 11, 2013 - StaffJoseph Arthur "Art" Manzanares, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at his home. He was 64 years old.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at the New Hope Church of God in Christ, 1571 Ammon Road, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, with minister Anthony Manzanares and bishop Taro Golden officiating.
He was born March 19, 1949, in Antonito, Colo., to Jose Maria Manzanares and Matilda Maria Manzanares. He grew up in Riverton and Lander. He attended Riverton High School and Lander Valley High School.
On Feb. 17, 2005, he married Rebecca St. Clair Manzanares in Lander. He previously had been married to Vestana Manzanares and Doreen Manzanares.
Mr. Manzanares lived in Riverton, Lander, Reno, Nev., and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
He was employed as a cement mason for many years.
His family said he enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, fishing and all sports. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca St. Clair Manzanares, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; sons Anthony Manzanares and William Manzanares, both of Idaho Falls, Idaho; daughters Wanita Garza of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Jennie Anderson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; brothers Joseph Manzanares of Lander, Thomas Manzanares of Alamosa, Colo., and Kevin Manzanares of Tulsa, Okla.; sisters Patsy Herandez of Alamosa, Colo., Debbie Manzanares of Albuquerque, N.M., Brenda Villagomez of Alamosa, Colo., Vicky Garcia of Grand Junction, Colo., and Angie Manzanares of Tulsa, Okla.; 30 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Arthur Manzanares Jr.; daughters Joline and Alma Manzanares; sister Raymunda Brown; and grandparents Benefacio Archuletta, Raymunda Archuletta, Fidel Manzanares and Pacifica Manzanares.
