Jul 16, 2013 - StaffDenise Fay Piper died Friday, July 12, 2013, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. She was 30 years old.
Traditional Indian funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the family residence, 724 Blue Sky Highway, Ethete. An evening service and wake will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the family residence. Interment will be in the Sage-Redman Cemetery at Ethete.
Denise Fay Piper was born March 22, 1983, in Lander, the daughter of the late Cheryl Ann Piper and John Charles Dewey.
She was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation.
Her family said she enjoyed listening to country music, watching television, writing while listening to music, and visiting with her family and friends. She welcomed everyone as friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Rosita, Rosetta and Stephanie Piper; brothers Hank, Truman and Raymond Piper; grandmother Alice Piper; aunts Caroline, Alberta and Maurine Piper; uncle Aloysius Piper Jr.; cousins LaKota Piper, Therin Dewey Jr., Marquette Welsh, Rosanne, Steena, Garrett, Alicia, Olowan, Inyan and Krysta Piper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Crystal Dewey; brother Dean Dewey; and grandfather Aloysius Piper Sr.
