Later start Tuesday for commission

The Fremont County Commission's regular meeting starts later than usual this Tuesday, July 23, at the commission chambers at the county courthouse in Lander.

Meeting time is 1 p.m.

Arrest made in deer-poaching case

Jared W. Maloff, 19, of Riverton, was arrested July 11 for taking a deer in a closed season.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department investigated the alleged poaching of the mule deer buck, which was killed June 28 east of the Wyoming Honor Farm near Riverton.

Maloff was arraigned July 12 in Lander, and his bond was set at $500. His arraignment was Thursday. Two other Riverton men were cited as accessories in the poaching incident.

Library fun centers on Indiana Jones

Join the fun at the Riverton Library Teen Scene at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25, for an Indiana Jones costume and trivia contest.

Anyone between ages 12-18 is invited to celebrate everybody's favorite archaeologist, "a man who really knows how to dig into reading," according to a library statement.

Snacks will be provided by the Friends of the Library. A Dairy Queen gift card will be awarded to the trivia contest winner, as well as an authentic Indiana Jones fedora for the teen with the best costume.
