A son was born to Alexiss Francom and Jeremy Francom, of Lander, at 4:10 p.m. June 28, 2013, at Lander Regional Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 5 ounces.

FREDERICK

A daughter was born to RaShawn Bell and Derek Frederick, of Riverton, at 6:58 a.m. July 2, 2013, at Lander Regional Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 13.6 ounces.

Deaths

HIGINBOTHAM

Virginia Margaret Knopp Higinbotham, 78, died Wednesday, July 24, at Help for Health Hospice in Riverton with her husband at her side. Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 5, at the First Baptist Church of Lander, 330 Sweetwater St.

TAYLOR

Kim Taylor, 56, died Friday, July 26, at Wyoming Life Resource Center in Lander after spending 53 years at her home away from home. A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at the Wyoming Life Resource Center Chapel in Lander. Inurnment also will be at the Wyoming Life Resource Center.

Emergency calls

In Riverton Police Department weekend reports through Tuesday morning:

- Nelson Duran, 33, of Fort Washakie, was arrested for public intoxication at about 2:30 p.m. Friday at the Fremont County Alcohol Crisis Center.

- Justin Noland, 27, of Lander, was arrested for felony driving under the influence and resisting arrest at about 4:20 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of South Federal Boulevard. The initial report was labeled a traffic offense.

- Thomas Bedsaul, 60, of Riverton, was arrested on a probation and parole warrant at about 2:40 p.m. Friday in the 600 block of East Madison Avenue.

- Norman C'Hair, 27, of Riverton, and Charlo Yellowfox, 25, of Riverton, each were arrested on warrants for failure to appear at about 4:50 p.m. Friday in the 500 block of South Broadway Avenue.

- Cynthia Shakespeare, 50, of Riverton, was arrested on warrants for failure to appear at about 10 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of East Main Street.

- William Keeler, 44, of Riverton, was arrested on three counts of simple assault and for property destruction, breach of peace and resisting arrest.

- Dale Bisbee, 19, of Riverton, was arrested for use of a controlled substance.

- Derek Headley, 26, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court.

- David Steger, 62, of Riverton, was arrested on felony warrants out of Texas and Missouri.

- Lenny Monroe, 32, of Riverton, was arrested on a warrant for contempt of court at about 7:45 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of East Park Avenue.

- Nathaniel Keays, 31, of Shoshoni, was arrested for public intoxication at about 9:40 p.m. Monday in the 2300 block of Walnut Drive.

- Timber Morland, 20, of Riverton, was arrested for minor in possession, public intoxication and on a warrant for failure to appear at about 11:30 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of East Monroe Avenue. With her was Michael Ferme, 21, of Lakewood, Colo., who was arrested for possession of marijuana, breach of peace and interference.

In Fremont County Sheriff's Office weekend reports through Tuesday morning:

- Kyle Cress, 33, of Riverton, was arrested on a Fremont County warrant for contempt of court at about 6:15 p.m. Friday in the 10600 block of Wyoming Highway 789 near Haymaker Road.

- Dallas Long, 52, of Riverton, and Sheri Apodaca, 50, of Riverton, each were arrested on for domestic violence battery at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday on Firethorn Lane north of Riverton. Long also was charged with interference with police, and Apodaca had one Fremont County warrant for probation revocation. Reports state they both were intoxicated and disorderly; Long reportedly called police to say Apodaca was yelling at him and had hit him. Dispatchers also could hear a woman asking him to "stop." At 7 a.m. Long reportedly called police again to say Apodaca had left but "Maria is back and is biting him."

- Blake Armajo Jr., 24, of Riverton, was arrested for driving while under the influence at about 2:10 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Tweed Lane north of Lander.

- During this timeframe, the Fremont County Emergency Dispatch Center took 237 calls for service including one involving a motor vehicle accident. County ambulances were dispatched 48 times, and area fire departments responded to three calls for help. Thirty-three people were booked into the Fremont County Detention Center for charges, including four for driving under the influence, eight other alcohol-related charges, five felony charges and 60 misdemeanor charges. The center currently is responsible for 191 inmates including 176 at the facility, 10 in substance abuse treatment programs, two on home detention and three elsewhere.
