Aug 2, 2013 - Terry TenBoer, ThermopolisEditor:
First Battalion, Forty-Ninth Field Artillery, Wyoming Army National Guard, predecessor to the current Second Battalion, Three-Hundredth Field artillery, is holding its second reunion picnic on Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Kiwanis Shelter at Hot Springs State Park in Thermopolis.
This unit includes numerous Fremont County residents and past residents on its roster.
Last year's get-together had excellent turnout, and those in attendance enjoyed the event and recommended we continue with it again this year. Judging by response is received to date, we expect a much larger attendance.
The reunion will commence at noon with food and refreshments available. All former First and Third Battalion members are invited, with a special invitation going out to the Three Hundredth Armored Field Artillery members; Second Battalion, Three Hundredth Field Artillery members; and all current active-duty personnel.
