Aug 5, 2013 - StaffShawn Roy Romero died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, in Casper. He was 55 years old.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at Mountain View Cemetery. A celebration of life will follow at 5 p.m. at the Eagles Hall, 404 E. Fremont Ave., Riverton.
Shawn Roy Romero was born Jan. 17, 1958, in Riverton, the son of Emilio J. "Bill" and Donna F. (Hedglin) Romero.
He graduated from Riverton High School in 1976.
In 1977, he married Brenda Clausen, and they later divorced. He married Lori Robinson in 1992.
Throughout his career as a master finish carpenter, he worked in Paonia, Colo., Kansas City, Kan., and in Riverton with Ed Bartell and Sehnert Systems Inc.
His family said he loved football and was a Denver Broncos fan. He also enjoyed driving his truck, being in the mountains, constructing items as a carpenter and spending time with his dog, Willy, and his cat, Mr. Morris.
He is survived by his son, Jessie Walthers; brothers Terry Paul Romero, Thomas Jay Romero and Guy Denys Romero; and sisters Marcia Lee (Romero) Sauer of Riverton, Debora Kay Romero of Riverton, Denise Ann Romero of Texas and Shelley Faye (Romero) Stephens of Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Heather Rena Romero; brothers Mark Allen Romero, Rodney "Rusty" Lynn Romero and Raegin Michael Romero; sister Diana Rae Romero; niece Breezy Romero; and grandparents Lucy and Jake White and Milford and Tootie Hedglin.
