Garden Club hosts convention

The Riverton Garden Club hosted the Wyoming Federation of Garden Clubs annual state convention June 14-16. WFGC awarded University of Wyoming student Bailey Hallwachs a scholarship for $500.

Local, state and national garden clubs support the scholarship fund and community beautification, the Penny Pines Project, breast cancer awareness and the joy of gardening.

Hemming receives master's

Jesse Hemming, of Riverton, graduated from the University of Wyoming with honors and received a master's degree in accounting on May 11.

Hemming also earned a bachelor's degree in accounting with minors in finance and music. He will join the accounting firm of Ernst & Young in Denver where he will work as an auditor.

Ernst & Young is the third largest professional services firm in the world and is headquartered in London.

Hemming is the son of Shawn and Deetta Hemming and the grandson of Mary Etta Beck of Riverton.
