Firefighters jump on new wildfire

JACKSON -- With resources stretched by wildfires burning in Utah and Idaho, three smokejumpers and a helicopter are working to suppress the latest fire in northwestern Wyoming.

The JDR Fire was reported Thursday afternoon in the northwest corner of John D. Rockefeller Memorial Parkway, near both Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. It was estimated to be about a quarter acre then but it wasn't immediately clear how much it had spread by Friday morning.
