Aug 21, 2013 - StaffBruce A. Parrill, formerly of Lander, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at his home in Laramie. He was 73 years old.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home in Laramie.
Bruce Parrill was born July 1, 1940, in Omaha, Neb., the son of Walter and Leah (North) Parrill. He graduated from high school in Lander and later from the University of Wyoming with a degree in accounting.
He worked in the Old Main Building for the University of Wyoming and retired in 2010 after working for the university for more than 40 years.
He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge No. 582, the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 390, and the University of Wyoming Alumni Association.
His family said he enjoyed vintage cars, his afternoon walks and the coffee he had throughout the day with his friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Frances Kail of Rock Springs and Jamie Shaffer and her husband Scott of Cody; granddaughter Grace of Cody; brother Dwight Parrill and his wife Mary Lynn of Casper; and sisters-in-law Carnelia Parrill of Trinidad, Colo., and Frances Barnes of Scottsdale, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, and his sister.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Wyoming Alumni Association in care of the Bruce Parrill Account, 214 S. 14th St., Laramie, WY 82070.
