Aug 22, 2013 - From staff reportsHunters, trappers and outdoor enthusiasts have a unique opportunity to gather Friday at the Fremont County Fairgrounds in Riverton for the Wyoming State Trappers Association Trapping and Outdoor Expo.
The event begins Friday and goes through Saturday with a variety of exhibitions and vendors on hand.
The featured presenter will be Les Johnson, host of the popular hunting program "Predator Quest." Johnson has placed in the top six in national coyote calling contests for the last two decades and has won the National Coyote Calling Championship six times. He is regarded as the best predator caller in the United States.
Johnson will conduct a calling demonstration at 5 p.m. Friday at the fairgrounds.
Other demonstrations will be held on the hour beginning at 4 p.m. Friday and resuming at 9 a.m. Saturday.
A variety of outdoor hunting and trapping demonstrations will be held and all are open to the public.
Special events for children include a "candy cannon," a trap toss and other contests.
Vendors also will be on site with hunting and trapping supplies and information available.
