Mary Frances Wooten Stevens-Lane

Mary Frances Wooten Stevens-Lane, of Lander, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013, with her family at her side. She was 87 years old.

There will be no services.

Mary Frances Wooten was born Jan. 4, 1926, the daughter of William Don and Lillie Pearl (Custer) Wooten in Fort Worth, Texas.

In 1944, she married Weldon Stevens in Fort Worth, Texas. The couple then moved to Salt Lake City where they lived for seven years. Mrs. Stevens moved to Lander in 1962 where she lived until her death.

In 1973, she married William "Bill" L. Lane.

She is survived by her sons, Weldon Stevens and his wife Jessica of Elko, Nev., and Tracy Stevens of Salt Lake City; daughters Vickie (Stevens) Kidwell and her husband Kevin of Lander and Wanda (Stevens) Veach and her husband Pat of Lander; son-in-law Bill Snapp; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister Ruby (Wooten) Commander of Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, who died July 13, 1992; parents William Don Wooten and Lillie Pearl (Custer) Wooten; sister Mildred Opal Fuller; one still-born son; and daughter Sherry Jean (Stevens) Snapp.
