Sep 3, 2013 - By Andrea Novotny, Staff WriterThe prizes include a quilt and a fishing basket and are on display in Shoshoni.
The Shoshoni Public Library will host a raffle and ice cream social at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 21 at the library, 216 Idaho St.
The raffle is intended to raise funds to purchase various items for the library.
Library manager Wanta Weisz says the library's goal is to buy either a new copy machine, fax machine or new shelving, and possibly a few smaller items, such as a bar scanner. The items the library purchases will depend on the amount of money raised in the raffle.
Raffle prizes include a quilt donated by Leah Delay, and a fishing basket, complete with a carrot stick fishing rod, donated by Lip Rippers. Both prizes are currently on display at the Shoshoni Public Library.
Tickets cost $1 per ticket, or $6 for five tickets. Tickets are currently available at the Shoshoni Library, from any members of the library's committee, People Advocating Library Services (PALS), Lip Rippers and The Desert Cafe.
