New app encourages visits to Wyoming state parks

Sep 3, 2013 From staff reports

Summer is in full swing, and the fun is heating up on the Wyoming State Parks Pocket Ranger app.

The Wyoming State Parks Passport Challenge uses the app's GPS mapping features to guide users to all of the state's state parks and offers the chance to win fun rewards.

The goal of the Wyoming State Parks Passport Challenge is to be the first to visit all of Wyoming's 30 state parks while racking up points with each visit.

The Wyoming State Parks Passport Challenge is more than just a fun, eco-conscious way to explore the parks; it's also a chance to score prizes and engage in a bit of friendly competition.

All of those points will build up to a grand prize, a $100 gift card to an outdoor retailer. The lucky runner-up will nab a $50 gift card.

Those who can't make it to all of the destinations will still have a chance to earn a prize. The first 10 players to visit 10 individual state parks will receive a piece of Pocket Ranger gear.

The challenge runs until Sept. 1, 2014.
