Sep 5, 2013 - StaffDarrel Dean Wooledge, of Sturgis, S.D., died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Fort Meade. He was 87 years old.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Sturgis, S.D., with the Rev. Kay Jennings officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Black Hills National Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Wooledge, of Sturgis, S.D.; daughters Teresa Forton of Lander and Melanie Fuerst of Pierre, S.D.; son Joshua Wooledge of Bismarck, N.D.; sisters Evelyn Charlson of Pierre, S.D., Neva Taylor of Port Orchard, Wash., and Faye Fink of Sutherlin, Ore.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
