RHS spikers go up 2-0 on KW, can't hold leadSep 6, 2013 By Craig Blumenshine, Staff Writer
Riverton is in Gillette this weekend for the Camel Invitational volleyball tournament.
Senior Haley Snell had 18 kills as the Riverton Lady Wolverines dominated the first two sets of their Thursday match with Casper Kelly Walsh.
But RHS (2-4, 0-1 Class 4-A West) could not hold momentum and dropped its first conference match of the season 3-2 (12-25, 15-25, 25-20, 25-22, 15-13) at the KWHS Gym.
"We started to play a little scared and couldn't get back in the flow. We came out to play to win, got a little complacent, and then played not to lose. They have it in them, but they have to finish," RHS head coach Adrian McNamee said.
Kiley Ridgway had six aces, Snell had 13 digs, and Ridgway had eight blocks.
"Haley Snell had her best game as a Lady Wolverine, and Sydney Lynott, on her birthday, played well in the back row and had some surprising digs," McNamee said.
After the match, Riverton traveled to Gillette to battle this weekend in the Camel Invitational volleyball tournament.
