UW marks opening of energy research center

LARAMIE -- The University of Wyoming officially marked the opening of its $25 million advanced energy research center.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place Thursday morning at the new Energy Innovation Center.

The center is home to UW's School of Energy Resources as well as classrooms, meeting rooms and high tech research facilities and labs.

The university bills it as state-of-the-art research and collaboration facility for public-private partnerships to solve the nation's energy challenges.

Gov. Matt Mead was among the speakers at the event.
