Sep 15, 2013 From staff reports

A 56-year-old Green River man is being treated for injuries suffered in a four-wheeler crash in Fremont County.

According to reports, the man had been driving his all-terrain vehicle "at excessive speeds" on the Lander Cutoff Road near the Sweetwater Campground over South Pass.

"He lost control and rolled the machine several times," Fremont County undersheriff Ryan Lee said in a press release. "The ATV came to rest on the man and had him pinned to the ground."

Witnesses reportedly moved the vehicle and stabilized the man, who had possible internal injuries and head injuries, according to initial reports. A person at the scene said the victim was conscious and breathing at about 2:50 p.m. Sept. 7.

The man was transported by air ambulance to the Lander Regional Hospital. Later, he was airlifted to the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper to be treated for "multiple serious injuries" he had suffered during the crash.
