Redesigned UW football field ranked among top 10 in nation

LARAMIE -- The new design of Jonah Field at the University of Wyoming's War Memorial Stadium is getting good reviews.

The national football website FootballScoop.com. ranked Jonah Field No. 6 in its Top 10 college football field designs in the country. Jonah Field was the top ranked field west of the Mississippi.

LSU's field was ranked No. 1, followed by East Carolina, Tennessee, North Carolina, Notre Dame and then Wyoming. Jonah Field was followed by Nebraska, Clemson and Georgia tied for eighth, Maryland and Boise State.

FootballScoop says Wyoming's new design offers an intimidation factor by reminding everyone of Laramie's altitude.

UW's field includes the image of Teton Mountains in the end zones, and the lettering "7220 Feet" to distinguish Jonah Field as the highest FBS stadium in the country.
