Sep 18, 2013 - StaffGeboe William "Sonny" Day Jr. died Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
He was 53 years old.
Traditional American Indian funeral services are at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the family residence, 25 Tinbesogup Rd., Boulder Flats.
An evening service and wake also are held at the family residence on Wednesday, Sept. 18, starting at 7 p.m.
Interment follows at Sacajawea Cemetery.
Mr. Day was born Feb. 4, 1960, in Lander, the son of Carol SunRhodes and the late Geboe Day Sr.
He attended schools at Fort Washakie and Lander.
He enjoyed all sports, especially football, and his favorite team was the New Orleans Saints.
He is survived by mother, Carol SunRhodes, stepfather George SunRhodes, sister Camille Day-Jimenez, daughter Carol Day-Aragon, grandchildren Andrew and Tori, other family members Elaine Tillman and family, Roberta Chippewa Engavo and family, Lorena Wesaw Four Souls and family ,and Audrey Ward and family, all of his friends from CES and the Life Resource Center, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
