Betty Ruth Edelman was born Feb. 17, 1943, in Hays, Kan., to David and Mildred Ann (Bullock) Edelman.
Shortly after she was born, the family moved to Riverton. Just before she started school the family moved to Casper, where she graduated from Natrona County High School.
She attended one year of college at Casper College before going to Northwest Nazarene College in Nampa, ID.
She married Jerry Crider on Aug.16, 1963 in Casper at the First Church of the Nazarene. Together they had three children. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in August with their children and their families.
Mrs. Crider was strong in her Christian faith and was active in the Nazarene Church. She taught Sunday School along with working with many youth groups throughout the years. She had held the position of missionary president.
Before she was married she worked at Bostwicks, a local dress shop in Casper. After she was married and had started her family, she ran the day care at the Nazarene Church in Riverton. With that experience, she went to DH Print and ran the day care program until it was closed and Pertech took over, when she was moved to the plant side.
She worked as an assembler and eventually did the warranty work until she retired.
Her family said that she enjoyed gardening and flowers. She is remembered as an amazing seamstress, making a lot of her children's clothes.
The family said "she was a humble but strong person especially in her faith. She was always thinking of others and above all she loved her family and friends unconditionally."
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of the family home; son, Dan (DeeDee) of Laurel, Mont; her daughters, Kerri (Pete) Noteboom of Kuna, Idaho, and Kristi (Kenyon) Mackey of Waymart, Pa.; her brother, David Robert "Bob" Edelman and wife Melvalyn; her grandchildren, Joshua (Krissy) Noteboom, Amber (Garrett) Noteboom-Chamberlain, Matthew Noteboom, Maya Mackey, Kyra Mackey, Shylaray Crider, Brandon Crider, Mystical Crider and Gabriel Crider; her great-grandchildren, Jenna and Cole Noteboom, Bethany Chamberlain and baby Chamberlain due in December; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
