Sep 25, 2013 - StaffWillie Jacobs, of Kirby, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, in Thermopolis. He was 63 years old.
Cremation has taken place, and a family memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, in Sinks Canyon State Park. Signs will be posted.
Willie D. Jacobs was born Dec. 14, 1949, in Crane, Texas, the son of Herman Roscoe and Eva Lavella (Hughes) Jacobs. He graduated from Thermopolis High School and lived in Wyoming for most of his life.
He was a driller in the oilfields where he had worked since he was 14 years old.
His family said he loved fishing, camping and boating.
He is survived by his children, William "Dee Jay" Jacobs and Amanda Mock; siblings Trish Keltz and Richard Jacobs; and grandchildren Aston Scott Jacobs, Ryan Mock, Shamron Mock and Katie Mock.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Eva; son Micheal Lee Peck-Jacobs; and siblings Linda Wolf, Homer Jacobs, Jack Jacobs and Darline Jacobs.
