Sep 28, 2013 - From staff reportsThe Shoshone National Forest has lifted two closures on two separate areas of the forest.
The temporary area closure on the eastern side of Atlantic Lake within the Popo Agie Wilderness has been lifted, as has the closure of Lost Lake Trail (Trail #617).
The closure in the vicinity of Atlantic Lake has been lifted because the horse carcass is no longer in the area. The early winter storm that moved over the Beartooth Mountains has provided enough moisture for forest officials to lift the closure on Lost Lake Trail, which was in place because of the Lost Lake Fire.
Both closures were in place to protect human life and provide public safety.
