Oct 4, 2013 - From staff reportsThe Lander Care and Share Food Bank has scheduled its Empty Bowls "Soup 'n More" fundrasier for 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger and was created by The Imagine Render Group.
The event will be held at the Noble Hotel, 288 Main St., Lander.
The basic premise is simple: Potters and other craftspeople paint or create soup bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread. In exchange for the ticket price, guests are asked to select and keep a bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to the Lander Care and Share Food Bank.
Tickets are $35 per person, and can be purchased 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at the Lander Care and Share Food Bank, 281 Garfield St.
