Eloise Anna Flater Himes died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2013, in Riverton. She was 79 years old.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Riverton Christian Church.

Eloise Anna Flater Himes was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Reading, Mass., the daughter of Harold and Bertha (Quigley) Falter.

She was raised and went to school in Reading, Mass. During high school she belonged to Rainbow and received the first Babe Ruth Award for Sportsmanship presented at Reading High School.

After graduation she worked in the advertising department at John Hancock Insurance Company in Boston. She married Tech Sargent Rolan R. Himes on Feb. 17, 1952, at Church of the Good Shepard in Reading, Mass. They were stationed in Akron, Ohio, Loring, Maine, and Denver.

After her husband left the military, the couple moved to Fort Collins, Colo., and she worked at J.C. Penny in Fort Collins, Colo., and at the bookstore at Colorado State University. After retirement, the couple traveled the United States in a fifth-wheel travel trailer for 18 years, meeting many new friends and seeing the wonders of the country.

Her family said she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening and doing jig-saw puzzles.

She is survived by her husband, Rolan; sons Rolan and his wife Marcia of Riverton and Eric and his wife Pam of Arvada, Colo.; grandchildren Melissa Hyde and her husband Pat of Casper, Ryan Himes and his wife Denise of Little Rock, Ark., Sarah Cameron and husband her Mike of Lakewood, Colo., and Justin Himes of Thornton, Colo.; and great-grandchildren Kayla Hyde of Laramie, Jordan Hyde of Casper, Nathanael Himes and Rebekah Himes of Little Rock, Ark., and Lillian Cameron of Denver; sisters Genevieve Micalli of Connecticut, Beverley Reed of New Hampshire and Harriette Webster of Vermont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and sisters Gudrun Johnston of Ohio and Glenna Zwicker of Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers a donation to the Riverton Christian Church Scholarship Fund may be made.
