The Wyoming Indian High School boys and girls teams both won Class 2-A state championships. For the girls, Elma Brown placed second overall, Faith Montoya sixth, and Theresa Brown seventh. Kevin Tweed, Sterling Howell and Charlie Howell all placed in the top 10 for the boys to earn all-state recognition.
Bryce Phinney of Riverton also was all-state for his eighth-place finish in the Class 4-A boys field, and Landers Jack Cadman and Jenny Rhoads were all state in Class 3-A.
