Oct 18, 2013 - StaffGordonna "Gordy" L. Amundson Cole, formerly of Riverton, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, at Loma Linda Medical Center in Loma Linda, Calif. She was 68 years old.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at First United Methodist Church in St. John, Kan., with the Rev. Irving Simon officiating. A celebration of life service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Mom's Cafe in Seward, Kan.
Gordonna Amundson Cole was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Rock Springs, the daughter of Gordon and Lois (Miller) Amundson.
She graduated from Riverton High School and received a bachelor's degree in education from the University of Wyoming.
On Sept. 19, 1975, she married John Cole in Denver.
She worked at various jobs as a teacher, waitress and primarily as a farm wife.
She was a member of the First United Methodist church in St. John, Kan.
She is survived by her daughter, Jamie Cole, and her husband, Paul Duncan, of Yucaipa, Calif., grandchildren Elmyra and Oakley Duncan, and brother Larry Amundson of Riverton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son, Daniel Cole, and her husband.
Memorials may be sent to the Golden Belt Humane Society or the First United Methodist Church in St. John, Kan.
