Oct 28, 2013 - StaffJeanne Lucille Poirot, of Lander, died Friday, Oct. 25, 2013, at home surrounded by family. She was 76 years old.
A memorial service for family and friends will be at a later date.
Jeanne Lucille Poirot was born Sept. 30, 1937, the daughter of Marietta Jeanette and Cecil Sanford Arnold. She was the fourth of seven children, all but one of whom were girls.
She graduated from high school in 1955 in Lander, and then started a family.
She was a seamstress who, according to her family, routinely and effortlessly turned out seemingly impossible creations with fabric and thread.
They said she was a good cook who would feed any hungry person in her path. Her family said she rarely, if ever, spoke until she was 5 years old and later became the teller of tales and the source of family folklore.
She is survived by one brother, five sisters, three sons, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, acquaintances and loved ones.
