Oct 30, 2013 - The Associated PressCHEYENNE -- A Montana man charged with kidnapping and sexually assaulting a Wyoming girl last year is set to appear before a judge to change his not-guilty plea and face sentencing.
District Judge Steven Cranfill of Cody set a Nov. 19 hearing for 40-year-old Jesse P. Speer of Manhattan, Mont.
Park County Attorney Bryan Skoric said Tuesday that the hearing will resolve all the felony counts against Speer, but he declined to say how.
Skoric said Speer is charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and sexual assault. Speer could face a possible sentence of up to life in prison if convicted on all counts.
Skoric also declined to say whether Speer had reached any agreement with his office about sentencing.
