Nov 5, 2013 - StaffSequoia Lee "Dervin" Middleton died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at his home in Riverton. He was 44 years old.
A celebration of life luncheon will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Set Free Church in Riverton.
Sequoia Lee Middleton was born Oct. 30, 1968, in Riverton, the son of Clifford Wayne and Laura Lee (Whiteman) Middleton.
He worked in the oilfield for most of his life. However, he spent the most recent years taking care of his mom.
Mr. Middleton was a born again Christian with the Set Free Church.
His family said he enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, football, candy and cooking. He was known for partying and spending time with family and friends. He also was happy to reunite with his children, Garret Middleton and Paige Middleton-Huntsman and his granddaughter Joanaley Huntsman.
He is survived by Dallas and Sherry Long, Paige Middleton-Huntsman, Joanaley Huntsman, Garret Middleton and Leon Covell; nieces Jesse, Hailey Stevens, Naquita Emerson and Christen Middleton; aunts and uncles; ex-wife Kathleen Pineda; and numerous family friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Sterling S. Middleton and Shane D. Long; stepdad Felix Whiteman; and Brandie Long.
Memorial contributions can be made to Davis Funeral Home to cover funeral costs.
