Nov 12, 2013 - StaffDuke Leroy Perry died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in Fremont County. He was 21 years old.
A visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, and continue all night in the family home at 1550 Paintbrush Loop Road, Fort Washakie. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 15, at Rocky Mountain Hall. The funeral service will begin at noon, also at Rocky Mountain Hall. Burial will follow in the Sacajawea Cemetery.
Duke Leroy Perry was born April 26, 1992, in Lander, the son of Lana Peahrora and the late Kurt Perry. He attended Fort Washakie School and Wind River High School and was a lifelong resident of the Wind River Indian Reservation.
He worked at the Shoshone Rose Casino and had worked at the Hines General Store for three years.
His family said he enjoyed playing basketball and Xbox 360, listening to music, cruising around, going to the casino and being with his family and especially his nieces Shawntina, Jami, Hayden and Pressel Peahrora and his nephew Tyrus.
He is survived by his mother, Lana, and Kevin Aragon; sisters Latoya and RV Jr., Brea Perry, Nicole Benson, Danelle Amboh, Andrea Perry and Alexa Wagon; brothers Bruce Perry, Leithaniel Peahrora, Justin and Brandon Amboh, Renfred and Dillon Aoah, Zachary and Roger Wagon; nieces Shawntina Apodaco, Jami Savage, Hayden Hereford and Pressel Peahrora; nephew Tyrus Savage; uncles Kerby and Stacy Amboh, Ronson and Wanita Peahrora and Clinton Wagon; aunts Andrea and Curtis Benson, Karla Ramos, Christel Peahrora, Lorinda Amboh, Tammy Peahrora, Valda Perry and Glenda Rodriguez; grandmothers Claudine Perry, Joann Tillman, Sally Alveraz, Irene Peahrora and Mary and William Wagon; grandfather Eddie Amboh; and many other aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Kurt Perry; grandfathers Glenn and Cecelia Perry, Daniel Peahrora, Raynard Perry, Robert Peahrora, Casey Amboh and Alfred Amboh; and uncles Glenn Perry Jr. and Leland Peahrora.
